Aston Martin Vantage Roadster gets world’s fastest folding roofFebruary 12, 2020
The British premium brand has published roadster Aston Martin Vantage sports car images. The first deliveries of the Vantage Roadster should begin in the third quarter of 2020.
The Aston Martin Vantage has everything you can expect from a good sports car – amazing looks, the hoarse sound of a powerful twin-turbo V8, a chic interior and even the ability to order a 7-speed manual transmission. The only thing missing in the current model is a folding roof. The Aston Martin Vantage Roadster will debut today, and this will be the first such automaker model to receive the Volante designation.
With the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 as the coupe version, the Aston Martin Vantage Roadster boasts 503 horsepower (685 Nm). All this power is transmitted through the eight-speed automatic transmission ZF to the rear wheels, which gives the Vantage roadster the opportunity to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds. The regular Aston Martin Vantage reaches this speed in 3.5 seconds.
Thanks to the unique and lightweight Z-Fold roof mechanism, the Vantage Roadster is only 60 kg heavier compared to its fixed-roof counterpart. The novelty has the fastest roof of all the automatically folding, available on sale today.
It takes 6.7 seconds to install the roof, and 6.8 seconds to raise it again – all manipulations can be carried out up to a speed of 50 km / h. The maximum speed of the roadster is 306 km / h.
It was also said that the usual Aston Martin Vantage coupe model year 2021 costs at least $ 146,000, and the new Vantage roadster – $ 161,000. Both versions of the British sports car are already available for pre-order, but deliveries of the Vantage Roadster should begin in the third quarter of 2020.
