Aston Martin Valkyrie will receive a powerful engineAugust 22, 2018
One of the most interesting supercars of the near future will be Aston Martin Valkyrie, which will receive a hybrid installation with a “record” atmospheric V12 6.5 liters with a capacity of about 1,000 horsepower.
The web has new information about the future of the hypercar Aston Martin Valkyrie. The car is planned with a modern hybrid system, built with a powerful atmospheric engine and all-wheel drive. Insider company Cosworth (the manufacturer of motors) has shared.
“We are getting famous with our record new engine for Valkyrie, the most powerful roadside” atmospheric “at 1130 bhp,” the report said. This roughly corresponds to 1,146 horsepower.
Presumably, the record power will be removed from the 6.5-liter V12 engine. At the moment, Ferrari 812 Superfast with its V12 6.5 is the most powerful passenger in the passenger class among the production cars, but there are only 800 forces there.
Unfortunately, it is not yet clear, and there are no clarifications, whether it was solely about the motor, or the total power of the hybrid. But it is logical to assume that it was only the power of the engine. The fact is that a separate company is responsible for the electrical part (Croats from Rimac work over the electrical part). But Cosworth is responsible exclusively for the “atmospheric”.
Even in the event that the power of the ICE is slightly lower (about 1,000 horsepower), it will still be a record of the modern world. Behind will remain even the Mazzanti Evantra 771 coupe with an atmospheric V8 of 7.0 per 771 hp. Even the track Aston Martin Vulcan AMR Pro is embarrassed (there V12 7.0 at 831 hp). Presumably, the future model of the Ferrari 812 Monza will be able to compete (the designation is not officially confirmed, the debut in September).
Recall that Aston Martin Valkyrie was introduced back in 2017 at the Geneva Motor Show. It is assumed that the minimum cost will be about 2.5 million euros, and the circulation will be limited to 150 road and 25 racing copies. The car can be sold in 2019 already.
Meanwhile, Aston Martin announced its intention to release 25 copies of the DB5 coupe of the 1964 model. These cars will be a copy of the spy car that took part in the James Bond film “Goldfinger”.
