Aston Martin showed the future of the brand in LondonJuly 1, 2019
Rapide E and Lagonda Concept were presented in the company’s flagship showroom. With these innovations, the British company wants to show in what direction Aston Martin will develop in the near future.
Aston Martin is showing off its electrified future in London, showing off two of its future models. The Rapide E is the first all-electric Aston Martin production car, and the Lagonda Vision concept car will be the first model of the revived brand.
Both concepts are presented at the Aston Martin Central London Motor Show in the UK.
The Rapide E’s twin-engine powertrain system delivers about 602 horsepower that will be delivered to the rear wheels, accelerating the car to 96 km / h in less than four seconds and developing a limited top speed of 250 km / h. The novelty will be made at the new Aston Martin plant in Saint-Afan in Wales, which also builds the first DBX crossover.
Meanwhile, the concept of Lagonda Vision Concept shows what can be expected from the revived Lagonda brand in the future. The company was rebuilt by Aston Martin several years ago as an ultra-exclusive, all-electric luxury brand. The guys already have a concept crossover that is pretty close to serial production.
“When we re-launched Lagonda, we set an ambitious goal to become the world’s first luxury brand that only produces electric models.” We see that the Lagonda brand is in a unique niche in the market, ”said Marek Reichman, creative director of Aston Martin Lagonda. “It is for the high-end elite consumer who wants to explore new, high-tech cars, not forgetting the impact they have on the environment.”
