Aston Martin showed the final design of the collection DBS GT ZagatoJuly 9, 2019
The car can only be bought together with the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation
Aston Martin showed the final design of the DBS GT Zagato collection coupe. The supercar, along with a replica of a sports car of the 60s, will become part of a special series dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Italian atelier. The car received a “dynamic” grille and a completely carbon roof.
The Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato is a converted version of the fastest production model of the British brand – the DBS Superleggera coupe. The car differs from the source code by the corrected design, which the company calls the “evolution of the Zagato stylistics”. The special feature of the two-door is a grille with 108 individual elements made of carbon fiber, which seem to be stationary when the car is standing and “come into motion” after the engine is started.
In 2016, Aston Martin announced the release of the limited special series Vanquish Zagato, which included coupes (99 pieces), a convertible (99 pieces), speedster (28 pieces) and a luxury shooting break (99 pieces). In December last year, an unnamed buyer purchased four cars at once, built on the basis of the Aston Martin Vanquish S.
In addition, the DBS GT Zagato received a new roof: the one-piece part is made of carbon fiber and does not have a cutout for the rear window. To improve visibility, a digital mirror is installed in the cabin of the supercar, to which a picture from the camera is broadcast. Under the hood, a 5.2-liter V12 engine with two turbochargers remained: it gives out 725 hp (900 Nm) and accelerates the usual DBS Superleggera to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.4 seconds.
The DBZ Centenary Collection’s Collector’s Edition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Zagato atelier. In addition to the modern DBS GT Zagato, it includes a vintage DB4 GT Zagato Continuation – as close as possible to the original replica of the cult sport car of the 60s. Cars can only be bought by a couple, and their price in the UK is six million pounds.
