Aston Martin may revive the legendary Bizzarrini brandNovember 10, 2020
Former Aston Martin CEO is developing a plan to revive Bizzarrini. A British group of luxury car dealers will help him to revive the famous brand.
Bizzarrini was founded by former Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and Iso engineer Giotto Bizzarrini in 1964 and has produced several sports and racing cars over the years. The company has even participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and in recent decades, in the creation of several concept cars.
According to British media reports, Bizzarrini may soon return to its former glory. Pegasus Brands said it is reviving the brand and will do so with former Aston Martin executives Ulrich Bez, Christopher Sheppard and Janette Green. The revived brand is expected to be based in London, Geneva, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Giotto Bizzarrini got his first job in the automotive world in 1953 as an engineer and driver at Alfa Romeo shortly after introducing the 1952 custom Fiat 500 Maccienetta Berlinetta as his final exam. He was soon hired by Ferrari, and in 1961 Ferruccio Lamborghini hired him to develop the first custom engine. As a result, he created an all-aluminum 3.5-liter V12 unit that served as the basis for the Miura, Countach and Murcielago engines.
