Aston Martin announces new Vantage Cup MonocupSeptember 16, 2019
The start of the first season is scheduled for 2020 in Europe, and in 2021 will be held in the Asian region. Each sports car will cost about 250,000 euros, and in total about 25 cars will participate on the track.
“The launch of the Aston Martin Vantage Cup from R-Motorsport is likely to be the highlight of next season,” – said Florian Kamelger, head of R-Motorsport, at a press conference. “The car developed and manufactured by Team AF Racing will be a real sports car that will be able to show its strength at the highest level and will delight both the participants themselves and the audience.”
Aston Martin has officially confirmed the creation of the Vantage Cup monocup, but details about the future sports car are not disclosed. We can assume that the model will completely lose the trim, change the body to composite panels, get a driver’s “bucket” with a five- or six-point belt, lose glass and get an internal safety cage. This will greatly facilitate Vantage. In addition, the manufacturer additionally forces the engine and finalizes the transmission with suspension.
The cost of one sports Aston Martin Vantage for a monocup will be about 250,000 euros.
Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer commented: “We are pleased that our brand will be widely represented by R-Motorsport in international races. R-Motorsport’s Aston Martin Vantage Cup offers customers the perfect opportunity to fulfill their ambitions in motorsport. ”
Aston Martin, meanwhile, revealed his first DBX crossover on video. The British brand decided to fuel interest in its own crossover.
