The concept of the Aprilia RS 660, presented at EICMA 2018 in Milan, is being actively tested. Noale plant is not going to postpone the release of a serial sportbike with a two-cylinder engine.

As far as it became known, the Italians tested purely track and road versions, and both prototypes already look great – almost ready for production. As we already know, the Aprilia RS 660 is completed with a two-cylinder engine, obtained by separating the two cylinders from the RSV4 engine. Roughly speaking, Italian engineers cut off the back of the head to create a two-cylinder engine. The standard RSV4 engine has a working volume of 1078 cm3, the Aprilia RS 660 is approximately 600 cm3.
Power will be around 100 hp, which is more than enough for this category of motorcycles. Aprilia RS 660 will compete with Kawasaki Ninja 650 and peers. Novelty is also suitable for participation in the Tourist Trophy in the category Lightweight TT …
