Apple strengthens connection with Porsche TaycanOctober 23, 2020
The Porsche Taycan has become even more tightly integrated with Apple products as drivers of luxury German EVs can now enjoy a seamless podcast experience.
Following last year’s Apple Music integration into the Taycan, the electric sports car has now received support for a new app – Apple Podcasts. This made the model the first car in the world to support this service. Using the Porsche Advanced Cockpit touchscreen display, Taycan drivers can stream any of over 1.5 million streams from Apple Podcasts, the world’s leading podcast platform.
The app includes a complete catalog with support for 100 languages. In addition to podcasts, Apple Music has also added Time-Synced Lyrics support on the passenger-side display, making the passenger feel almost like a DJ driving music in the car.
“A great podcast can make any trip more enjoyable. With Apple Podcasts, drivers can easily find the latest news, listen to incredible stories and enjoy the company of their favorite hosts. And with Apple Music, passengers can easily sing along to their favorite artists in their songs, ” – said Oliver Schusser, vice president of Apple Music and Beats.
Both Apple Podcasts and Lyrics sync to Apple Music are available to new Taycan customers starting October 21. For existing owners, the apps will be released in January.
