Appeared images of the new BMW 3-Series TourerOctober 9, 2018
Who will need a crossover? If the Bavarian automotive company plans to introduce a new generation of BMW 3-Series in the station wagon. Patent images of a possible novelty appeared in the database of the Brazilian patent office.
The German brand BMW has just introduced a new generation of BMW 3-Series sedan – the show of the long-awaited news was held in the framework of the Paris Motor Show. Well, a couple of hours ago, patent images of a Bavarian novelty in a station wagon turned out to be at the disposal of our automobile edition.
It is reported that representatives of the brand decided to register a new body type for the compact family of this generation in the Brazilian patent office.
The new performance of the car received the same appearance as the sedan version, including the new, “sharp” headlights. The main differences are in the rear of the car, where the designers decided to significantly lengthen the roof and increase the size of the side window. The roof has a smooth descent, thanks to which the exterior of the car gets a sporty touch. Also worth noting are the L-shaped tail lights and a small spoiler.
Unfortunately, the published images of the Bavarian novelty do not give us the opportunity to look at the interior of the car. It is possible to say with a great degree of confidence that, most likely, the interior will be very reminiscent of that which the sedan has. Of the innovations of the latter, it is worth mentioning the 12.3-inch screen, which will serve as a dashboard, as well as a 10.3-inch display of the infotainment system.
There is no doubt that in the case of launching into mass production, the BMW 3-Series wagon will receive the same engines as the sedan. For the automotive market in Europe, version 318d is available, which is equipped with a 148 horsepower diesel engine, the 320d, under the hood of which there is a 188 horsepower engine, 330d with 262 horsepower, and gasoline versions 320i and 330i, which received 181 and 255 hp power units, respectively. In the summer of next year, sales of a more powerful version of the M340i will start, which can boast an engine of 382 hp. A hybrid version of the 330e will be available by 2020.
Well, time will tell whether the management of the Bavarian automobile brand will decide to introduce a new generation of BMW 3-Series in a station wagon.
