Apollo begins shipping its IE hypercarNovember 2, 2020
The German company Apollo has begun deliveries of its IE hypercar or Intensa Emozione. Thanks to blogger Shmee, we can get acquainted with one of 10 produced copies of the shocking hypercar.
In October 2017, the German sports car manufacturer Apollo unveiled its extremely rare hypercar, the Intensa Emozione or IE.
Three years have passed since its debut, but only now the first of the 10 planned copies of the hypercar has arrived to its owner. Fortunately, foreign blogger Shmi spent some time with Barry Skolnik, who owns the hypercar.
The Apollo IE Skolnika has a body color Orange Dragon that underlines its advanced aerodynamic body kit that makes this hypercar so aggressive looking.
As a reminder, the IE is today one of the most custom-made production cars with seats filled with padding and cushions specially tailored to the size of the owner.
Carbon fiber is probably one of the main materials that a hypercar is made of. The monocoque bathtub is made entirely of durable and lightweight material with front and rear subframes. The entire subframe / monocoque setup weighs just 105 kg, which is more or less equivalent to the weight of one very healthy person.
The Apollo IE has a 6.3-liter V12 engine behind the seats. This naturally aspirated engine produces 780 horsepower (759 Nm). With a total weight of just 1,250 kg, the Apollo IE can accelerate to 100 km / h in just 2.7 seconds.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that Apollo has published a teaser for the IE hypercar in an even more powerful version of GT1. The official presentation of the racing version of the hypercar will take place at the Geneva Motor Show. So far, there is no exact data on the power unit of the new product – according to rumors, there will be a V12 engine under the hood.
