Another Chinese car could not resist borrowing the design: Dongfeng Forthing X5February 4, 2019
The new SUV from the Chinese concern, obviously borrowed front optics from the modern design of Renault. The most expressive feature of the corporate style cannot be confused with something else.
The first photos of the Dongfeng Forthing X5 serial crossover appeared in the database of the Chinese Patent Office and the Ministry of Industry. Dongfeng, also a Renault DRAC (Dongfeng Renault Automotive Company) joint venture partner, produces Kadjar and Koleos crossovers for the PRC. But how the most proprietary feature of the modern design of the “French” was on the Chinese crossover is not reported.
As experts of AutoTimesNews noted, “It’s hard to believe that the chief designer Laurence van den Acker, out of the kindness of his heart, took and presented the Chinese with the most important element of the new corporate identity.”
The very same crossover is a clear representative of the local market. Dimensions are: length – 4460 mm, width – 1820 mm, height – 1720 mm, with a wheelbase of 2720 mm. As a power unit can be used 1.6-liter engine from Mitsubishi, capable of developing up to 122 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque.
Start of sales can be expected in the spring, whether the model Dongfeng Forthing X5 will be sold outside of China is still unknown.
