An updated version of the 2021 Volkswagen Polo is presentedApril 22, 2021
The German brand has unveiled an updated version of the 2021 Volkswagen Polo subcompact model. The novelty has received quite serious changes.
Volkswagen was supposed to have a live broadcast of the 2021 Polo tomorrow, but at the last moment, the German brand decided that they could present their popular car now. It must be said that the changes are quite significant and start at the front, where the subcompact hatchback gets an LED strip, thus becoming similar to other modern VW models, such as the restyled version of the Tiguan crossover.
The headlights themselves have been updated to give a more modern look and come with LEDs as standard. More expensive configurations of the new items will be optionally offered with a more complex matrix LED installation. A more obvious change is at the rear, where the Polo uses wider LED taillights, giving the model a more mature look.
The car’s name is now proudly positioned in the center of the tailgate.
The R-Line version gets fake exhaust tips with four tailpipes. The sporty-looking equipment of the German novelty comes standard with a set of 16-inch alloy wheels.
VW has completely revamped its infotainment system with the largest touchscreen now at 9.2 inches. Another notable change is the introduction of sleeker touchscreen climate controls, borrowed from the redesigned Tiguan and Arteon models. With an updated version, the Polo now comes standard with an all-digital driver display, which means analog dials are officially a thing of the past. For the initial trim levels of the car, the tidy is placed on an 8-inch screen, and on expensive trim levels a 10.25-inch display is offered.
The base engine is a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated 80 hp engine. (93 Nm), which is connected to a five-speed manual transmission. It is joined by a 1.0 TSI with either 95 or 110 hp, available with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. A TDI diesel engine is not available, but a 1.0 TGI 90 hp power unit is available. (160 Nm), which runs on gas.
