An updated supercar Ferrari Portofino was spotted on testsSeptember 9, 2020
Pictures from tests of a camouflaged test prototype of the updated Ferrari Portofino have been published on the web. The car will receive a more powerful engine, as well as an expanded list of available options. Nothing is known about the debut date.
According to early rumors, the Italian automaker plans to unveil two new models before the end of the year, and we have new spy photos showing that the company is working hard to update the Portofino. This is not the first time we have seen prototypes of this novelty, although we do not know why this time there are more camouflages on the body of the car than in previous times.
Previous spy photos of the Portofino showed several test vehicles with varying levels of disguise, raising questions about Ferrari’s intentions.
We don’t know what changes Ferrari is hiding, although close inspection reveals no significant body changes. There are no noticeable visual changes, although we expect both bumpers to get a different design.
Rumors have it that Ferrari may upgrade the current 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8, resulting in more power from the engine. Now this figure is 591 horsepower. Power is rumored to be increased to 612 hp. Ferrari is also due to replace the Portofino’s seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with an eight-speed transmission. The increase in power should make the model a little faster in the back to 100 km / h – now the car reaches this speed mark in 3.5 seconds.
We don’t know when Ferrari will unveil the new Portofino to the public. We expect Ferrari to unveil the new Portofino in the coming months before it goes on sale next year.
Not so long ago, we wrote that a camouflaged Ferrari 812 prototype was seen on tests. Foreign publications shared photos of two camouflaged prototypes of Ferrari supercars. One of them is an updated version of the 812. Rumor has it that the model will be able to develop more power from its monstrous V12 engine.
