An unknown British company will build a sports car in the style of TVRMay 19, 2020
Niche manufacturer Mulholland Automotive announced the first model
The British niche manufacturer Mulholland Automotive, part of the Mulholland Group, specializing in engineering, composites and technologies for motorsport, has announced its debut project. This is the Legend 480 coupe, rethinking the design of the classic TVR sports cars. Prior to the announcement of plans to create such a machine, this brand was not known.
The scanty information on the Mulholland Group website says that the Legend 480 (the number in the name indicates the engine power on the output shaft) is a two-seater coupe with a carbon fiber chassis and a composite body. The two-door is equipped with a V8 engine: its volume is not disclosed, but the return in metric units is known – 487 horsepower. The unit is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox that transfers traction to the rear wheels.
The design of Legend 480 was invented by former TVR chief stylist Damian McTaggart, who once had a hand in the exterior of sports cars such as TVR Tuscan, Cerbera and Sagaris. Actually, the Legend itself should become a kind of original model of the British brand: light, fast and with a classic layout.
Now TVR is going through hard times. At the beginning of the year, the company completed the certification of the Griffith coupe and promised customers that it would begin road testing of the car soon. In addition, TVR has agreed with Ford to use a Mustang five-liter V8 Coyote engine. However, the launch of small-scale production may be delayed, as the company does not have enough funds for this.
