An old BMW 740i received powerful tuningFebruary 11, 2019
The Bavarian 7-Series sedan received a supercharged engine from the “charged” E39 M5 V8 sedan. The exhaust sound is just “brutal.” The car is auctioned.
This modified BMW 740i Sport is a prime example of proper tuning, as it is equipped with a powerful engine from the high-performance M5 (in the back of the E39), to which the supercharger is screwed.
The BMW brand may never have offered its luxury 7-Series sedan from its sporty BMW M division, but this car is very close to what the E38 M7 should have been.
The ideal proportions of the E38 generation, combined with its luxurious style, make it one of the best models of the Bavarian automaker. I note that with some additional elements of appearance, which were installed tuners, the car looks pretty good.
With a snow-white body color Alpine White, the sedan is offered with a range of 86,180 km at auction Bring A Trailer. The seller bought it at the end of 2016 in katabatic condition and began its transformation. A restored 4.9-liter S62 V8 engine was installed, which works with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The sedan received an ESS supercharger, enhanced brakes and a limited slip differential from the E39 M5. In addition, the Seven suspension has been upgraded – it is equipped with Bilstein shock absorbers and struts, H & R springs, a modified 750i rear subframe and axle, new stabilizers and much more.
The original brown leather upholstery has a different color, while the dashboard is now equipped with the iDrive infotainment system. The steering wheel and instrument cluster were replaced with counterparts from the E39 M5.
