American Vandal One equipped with a Civic Type R engineFebruary 13, 2019
The car received an ultralight body – only 555 kg, as well as a 560-horsepower engine. The price of the car will be 119 700 dollars
When it comes to lightweight cars designed for the circuit, I immediately recall companies such as BAC, Ariel, KTM and Radical. Is there a place in this niche for a new opponent? There is!
Thanks to carbon fiber monocoque, “wrapped” in a carbon fiber body, the novelty received an ultra-small weight of only 555 kg. Its “heart and soul” is a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, borrowed from the 306-horsepower Honda Civic Type R. I note that the same engine is used in the case of the Ariel Atom 4. Although the latter offers 320 hp. , the new Vandal One has an additional 20 hp, as a result, the maximum power will be 340 hp
That is what the guys from the American company Vandal Cars think. They are ready to present their first car, which was called the “One”.
If you need even more power, the American company is ready to offer a version of Hardcore R, which can boast 560 “horses”, which are already achieved at 9,000 rpm.
The transmission is a 6-speed gearbox from Sadev, while the suspension is borrowed from Formula 1 racing cars. A special feature is the front and rear location of the push rod with adjustable shock absorbers. Anti-roll bars and special springs are also included. Braking ability is provided by aluminum calipers with four cylinders connected to ventilated rotors to create a braking force of more than 2G.
