The head of the revived brand Alpine, owned by French Renault, told about plans to build a sports hybrid crossover.
Novelty will compete with a compact sports coupe Jaguar F-Pace and Porsche Macan. Release dates of new model Michael van der Sande did not disclose, but said that its appearance is imminent. According to him, the crossover will turn into a full Alpine brand, but not the only sports car brand.
The first model of Alpine – A120 sports car – will hit the market in the second quarter of 2017. The car weighs 1100 kg and equipped with 1.8-liter turbo engine capacity of 250, 275 or 300 horsepower, and a seven-speed transmission with double clutch. Production of new cars will establish the French Dieppe.
