BMW Alpina has unveiled updated versions of its XD3 and XD4 models following the presentation of the redesigned BMW X3 and X4.

The Alpina XD3 and XD4 are diesel alternatives to their X3 M and X4 M cousins. The new additions receive the same styling changes as the regular X3 and X4 SUVs. They’ve got a set of enlarged kidneys at the front, redesigned LED headlights and taillights, and new bumpers typical of Alpina models.

The new Alpina XD3 and XD4 are equipped with a diesel engine. It is an upgraded version of BMW’s 4-cylinder 3.0-liter inline engine with 389 hp. and 800 Nm of torque. The motor produces 30 Nm more than its predecessors, the Alpina. As before, the powerful diesel engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a retuned xDrive all-wheel drive system.

Alpina claims the new XD3 and XD4 are capable of 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds, with a top speed of 267 km / h for the XD3 and 268 km / h for the slicker XD4.

The Bukhloi-based company has also revised the adjustable sports steering calibration and launch control system for perfect brake light avoidance.

Both new Alpina models feature adaptive dampers with model-specific adjustments and shorter, stiffer springs for “excellent longitudinal and lateral dynamics.” As an option, the company will offer a set of composite brakes, as well as a set of 22-inch alloy wheels with Alpina’s signature design. The new Alpina XD3 and XD4 come standard with 20-inch wheels.

Prices for the new BMW Alpina XD3 on the domestic market in Germany start at 85,900 euros at the current exchange rate, and the price of the XD4 starts at 89,100. The first deliveries will begin in November this year.
