Alpina tests own BMW B3 Touring 2020 before debutSeptember 7, 2019
Well-known tuners continue to expand their own line of “charged” cars built on the basis of production versions of BMW. Now, photographers have photographed the upcoming new camouflaged Alpina B3, preparing for the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Tuning studio Alpina never tried to create something different from BMW. Tuners, on the contrary, emphasize the special character of Bavarian cars, adding their own style. This happened with the new generation of the BMW 3-Series. On the basis of the “charged” station wagon, a luxury model Alpina B3 Touring 2020 model year will be built.
And despite the fact that BMW is not going to produce “charged” station wagons, Alpina will take as a basis a production station wagon, but will put an engine and transmission from M3 into it. Most likely, a 3.0-liter turbo engine will be used, capable of developing up to 387 horsepower on the M340i model. But knowing Alpina, the power will be raised above the mark of 400 horses.
Together with the engine, an eight-speed robotic transmission will work, as well as the proprietary xDrive all-wheel drive system. Acceleration to 100 km/h will take about 4 seconds. The public debut will take place at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
