Alpina tests 600-strong BMW X7August 21, 2019
The German tuning studio Alpina began testing its own version of the large X7 crossover, which should debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It is assumed that the novelty, a test prototype of which is run on the Nurburgring Northern loop, will receive an engine with a capacity of more than 600 horsepower. According to preliminary data, we are talking about a forced 4.4-liter V8 unit with two turbines, developing 600 liters. with. and 800 Nm of torque. It is with this engine that the Alpina B7 xDrive sedan is equipped – a revised version of the flagship BMW Seven.
It is possible that Alpina will also prepare a diesel modification of the crossover – with a three-liter six-cylinder unit with four turbines, which in the factory version produces 400 forces.
At the moment, the most powerful modification of the standard BMW X7 is the option with the designation X7 M50i xDrive. This car is equipped with a 4.4-liter supercharged V8 gasoline engine, developing 530 liters. with. and 750 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The crossover is capable of accelerating from zero to 100 kph in 4.7 seconds.
