Alpina introduced the “charged” sedan B3October 23, 2019
The premiere took place at the Tokyo Auto Show these days. Experts position the new car as a link between the BMW M340i xDrive and the latest BMW M3.
The German car company Alpina brought its high-profile novelty to the Tokyo auto show. More recently, the new B3 station wagon was shown to the general public in Frankfurt. Now it’s the turn of the “charged” B3 sedan, the images of which could be seen on the teaser earlier. A turbocharged 3.0-liter engine with 462 hp returns is used as a power unit. at 700 Nm of torque. This engine is installed on the BMW X3 M and BMW X4 M crossovers. Thus, the new product will be more powerful than the M340i model, which produces 369 hp, but will be inferior to the new M3 Competition with its 500 hp. The power unit will be paired with a branded automatic transmission ZF in 8 stages.
This combination allows the car to show excellent dynamics – the B3 sedan picks up the first 100 km / h in 3.8 seconds, and accelerates to 200 km / h in 13.4 seconds.
It is noteworthy that the maximum possible speed of the new items is 308 km / h – this figure makes the Alpina B3 one of the fastest sedans in the world. Orders for the new model will be accepted from the beginning of next year.
