Alpina B8 Gran Coupe spotted on road testsSeptember 5, 2020
Alpina, which makes cars based on BMW models, has begun work on the B8 Gran Coupe, which will be based on the BMW M850i GC.
The pre-production prototype of the car was spotted undergoing road tests with the original partially camouflaged front bumper and the typical Alpina multi-spoke wheels.
Judging by the photo, the new product will receive the same stern as the M850i, while the rear bumper, diffuser, exhaust system and logos will be different. As for the interior of the B8 Gran Coupe, it will probably borrow from the standard 8-Series GC, while adding a different steering wheel and new trim options. In addition, to provide an excellent balance of comfort and sportiness, the novelty will be equipped with a specially tuned suspension and powerful brakes.
On the technical side, the new car is likely to have a 4.4-liter V8, just like the M850i. The engine’s performance has not yet been disclosed, although it is assumed that it will be approximately 600 hp. The unit will work together with xDrive all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission.
While the exact date of the debut of the novelty is unknown, however, it can be assumed that the Alpina B8 Gran Coupe will be shown in the first half of next year.
In addition, it was recently noted that the electric German model BMW i3S is being sold at a 50% discount. It should be emphasized that the reason was a very small power reserve, which does not allow performing all the stated tasks.
