A long time ago, the famous tuning studio Alpina presented a highly modified version of the BMW 8 Series coupe (E31 body). The car, designated the B12 5.7 Coupe, had a more powerful engine with increased displacement and many changes from the original.
The Bavarian BMW 8 Series coupe in the back of the E31 is rightfully one of the iconic cars of its time. The car had many cool features, one of which is the powerful V12 engine. The famous tuning studio Alpina presented its version of this model. The car, which received the designation B12 5.7 Coupe, was produced in only 57 units.
Based on the 850CSi version, the tuning project of the Bavarian coupe from the studio was equipped with a BMW S70B56 V12 engine, the displacement of which was increased to 5.7 liters. It also had modified air intake, crankshaft and camshafts, and the exhaust system was designed directly by Alpina engineers.
This particular coupe has a red exterior and white Alpina decals.
The car also features a carbon fiber hood with air vents and a NACA center air duct.
It is known that 25 modified copies of the car were equipped with a Getrag 6-speed manual transmission. The rest of the Alpina B12 5.7 Coupes had Shift-Tronic gearboxes. Such versions of the car had a Shift-Tronic badge on the back.
The powerful V12 engine produced 410 hp. (570 Nm), which by 1992 standards was an impressive figure for supercars like the Ferrari 812 Berlinetta. The car could accelerate to 100 km / h in 5.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 300 km / h.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that the price of the new Alpina XB7 was announced. Only one complete set of the large “charged” crossover will be available for purchase.
