All the winners of “24 Hours of Le Mans” were shown in one videoJuly 16, 2018
The site of Budget Direct Car Insurance gathered all the winners of the “Le Mans 24 hours” marathon in one video. Showing the cars themselves, their names, the year of participation in the race and the engine they were equipped with. In addition, images of cars can be printed in the form of a large poster.
The first race in Le Mans took place in 1923 – then the winner was Chenard & Walker Sport, equipped with a three-liter “Quartet”. Until 1952, the marathon won only an open car, until the first place was the Mercedes-Benz 300SL. The race was not held from 1939 to 1949.
Most of the victories in this race were won by European brands. Exceptions were only Ford in the 1960s, Mazda in 1991 and Toyota in 2018. The greatest number of victories from the company Porsche – nineteen. In second place – Audi with 13 wins.
This year, the first place in the LMP1 category was taken by Toyota.
