All Polestar 2 electric cars sold were recalled after owners complaintsOctober 5, 2020
The Chinese-Swedish company literally half a year after the start of sales of its new product – fastback Polestar 2 – faced a problem, as a result of which more than 2 thousand copies had to be recalled.
We previously reported that a software glitch was found in several instances of the Polestar 2. So, European car owners complained that almost immediately after the purchase, an error in the drive system was displayed in the cars, after which the electric car had to be parked on the side of the road and delivered to the nearest official service center on a tow truck.
It was only recently that the company released details of the problem. So, the Swedish edition of Dagens Industri reports that due to a software failure on electric cars, the power was turned off, and it was impossible to restart the system. In addition, important safety-related functions were denied. At the same time, the steering and brakes worked.
Fortunately, the automaker decided to conduct a revocable campaign, during which it will repair all sold Polestar 2, which is about 2.2 thousand copies. Exactly how the problem will be eliminated is not specified. A software update will probably help. All work will be carried out free of charge for clients.
It is worth noting that lately, car manufacturers are very often faced with problems when releasing new cars. For example, a malfunction was found in the new Volkswagen Golf and Skoda Octavia. The dates for the start of sales of the Volkswagen ID.3 electric car were also postponed.
