Eight generations of the Jaguar XJ will travel along the route Castle Bromwich – Paris

The anniversary of the flagship model XJ, which this year celebrated its 50th anniversary, Jaguar will celebrate a run from Great Britain to France. Eight generations of XJ will travel along the route of Castle Bromwich – Paris with a total length of 839 kilometers. The festive run will finish at the Paris Motor Show, where in 1968 the first Jaguar XJ Series I debuted.

The column of flagship sedans will be headed by Series I, and the special anniversary version of XJ50 will be closed. Also in the run will be the XJ Series II Coupé and X350 XJR. The route will take place near the centers of Jaguar Classic and Bicenter Heritage, as well as the Goodwood and Le Mans racing tracks, which played an important role in the history of the XJ model and the Jaguar brand.

The premiere of the first generation XJ was held in Paris in 1968. The original XJ became the last Jaguar sedan, to which the co-founder of the company William Lyons put his hand. The XJ of the 1968 model was equipped with a 2.8- or 4.2-liter in-line “six”, and later, in 1972, a 5.3-liter V12 with electronic ignition.

The Jaguar Jaguar XJ50 was presented in April this year. The sedan received bumpers from the modification of Autobiography, 20-inch wheels of a special design, a black grille, and leather seats with a diamond-shaped stitch. The car was offered with both a conventional and an elongated wheelbase, a 340-horsepower 3.0 petrol engine or a 300-horsepower diesel engine of the same size.
