All Formula E races until June may be canceledMarch 3, 2020
On Tuesday at an emergency meeting in Geneva, team leaders, organizers of Formula E and FIA will discuss the current situation around the continuation of the 2019-2020 season.
The Chinese phase, originally scheduled for March 22, was canceled due to coronavirus a few weeks ago. Therefore, in March, the electric series will remain without racing.
The next stage, April 4 in Rome, is also under huge question, given that Italy has become the main focus of the coronavirus in Europe. The epicenter of the epidemic is South Korea, the race in which is due to take place on May 3. Whether it will be safe to hold the stage in Paris on April 18 is also a big question, since today already 130 cases of infection have been recorded in France.
“If the fears that the stages in Rome, Paris and Seoul will be canceled. Then, from March to June, before the Jakarta Electric Prize, Formula E may be left without a race, ”writes The Race.
Participants and organizers are considering the idea of extending the season from mid-summer to September, the possibility of another race in Marrakech and several stages on stationary routes in Valencia and Assen.
