All Cadillac models will get autopilot since 2020June 7, 2018
The American company will start installing on all cars a proprietary system of semi-automatic control Super Cruise, which is now available only for the flagship CT6
Cadillac company will begin to offer for all its models the company’s semi-automatic control system Super Cruise. This is reported by the press service of the American brand.
At the moment, Super Cruise is only available for one model Cadillac – the flagship sedan CT6. The system operates on the basis of the front radar Lidar and a complex of cameras providing an overview. In addition, navigate the space helps the GPS-navigator and cartographic service.
Electronics controls the steering, the accelerator and the braking system when the car moves along the highway. In this case, the driver must monitor the road and at any time be ready to fully take control of himself.
The Cadillac also noted that in 2023 the company will start using V2X (Vehicle-to-everything) technology, which will appear on the “new mass crossover”. Such a system, scanning space at a distance of more than 300 m, allows the car to “communicate” with other traffic participants, road infrastructure and other objects. For example, the driver will receive information about traffic signs and traffic lights, repair work, traffic jams, traffic capacity and pedestrians.
