In the Alfa Romeo range two new crossover can appear. Their sales will begin in the next three years. The flagship all-terrain vehicle, which will be located a step above Stelvio, will compete with the Audi Q7, the younger will compete for buyers with the Volvo XC40, BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Range Rover Evoque.
According to the publication of Auto Express, the compact crossover “Alpha” will be based on the platform Giorgio, which is used in the construction of the sedan Giulia and all-terrain vehicle Stelvio. The basic versions of the model will be rear-wheel drive, the full-wheel drive will be offered as an option.
The range of engines of the new crossover will consist of a gasoline two-liter four-cylinder engine and a hybrid power plant. In addition, the machine received a third-level autonomous control system: it can independently move within certain roads.
Earlier it was reported that the flagship Alfa Romeo all-terrain vehicle will be equipped with a “moderate” hybrid system, which will include a two-liter petrol engine with an electric turbocharger and a 48-volt onboard power system. The delivery of the unit will be from 350 to 400 horsepower.
