The brand Alfa Romeo will soon withdraw from the market mid-engine sports car 4C Coupe, reports Motor Authority with reference to the representative of the Italian company. It’s about the United States, however, most likely, the same fate will befall the European version of the model. The reason is that the Alfa Romeo is probably clearing the way for a new 600-horsepower hybrid coupe that will be built on the basis of Giulia. For the new two-door coupe the name GTV will be revived, the model will debut until 2022.

Roadster Alfa Romeo 4C Spider until it disappears from the salons, will soon be presented to the Italian 2019 model year. According to Motor Authority, in the US roadster will rise in price. In this case, the model will lose the track package, which includes the carbon shell exterior mirrors, 18-inch wheels in the front and 19-inch rear, sports steering wheel. At the freshened model all these options will be available separately.

Serial Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe introduced in 2013, the product roadster – in 2015. Both models are equipped with a petrol turbo four 1.75 power 240 hp. (350 Nm) and a six-step preselective robotic transmission. Both the coupe and the roadster are accelerated to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The maximum speed is electronically limited at 250 km / h.

In the US, the 4C Coupe today costs from $ 55,900. The current 4C Spider will cost a minimum of 65,900 dollars. Last year, the United States sold 406 cars (and 4C Coupe and 4C Spider) – this is 86 cars less than in 2016. In Europe, the demand is higher, but also there are sales falling: 871 cars in 2017, compared to 1,179 cars in 2016.

As previously reported, by 2022, in addition to the new GTV coupe, Alfa Romeo is planning to launch a C8 supercar with a carbon-fiber chassis and a hybrid unit, which will include a biturbomotor and two electric motors. It is expected that the total return of this model will exceed 700 hp, and the first 100 km/h car will pick up in less than 3 seconds.
