Independent designers presented how the novelty in the body of a convertible will look like.

The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 is one of the hottest cars at the moment, even with production shutdown due to plant closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the end, the C8 Z06 is on its way to accepting this stellar status, and this new rendering represents how a hotter model might look like in a convertible.

Given the new mid-engine layout, Chevrolet engineers do not need to make significant changes to the front of the Z06. The biggest change here is a more aggressive front design and a more embossed hood. Wider tires may require wing adjustment. On render, the car also received an attractive set of wheels with inclined pairs of spokes and a “star” in the center.

The back of this Z06 retains much of the existing C8 design. There is a new rear spoiler that has borrowed style from the part available for the C7 Z06. A high wing similar to the C8.R. is also expected to be available.

Rumor has it that the Z06 is using a version of the 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 from the C8.R race car. Competition rules limit power to 500 horsepower and 480,651 Newton meters of torque. Without adjusting the balance of performance, the road option could have even greater power.

The debut date of the C8 Z06 remains a mystery, and the closure of the plant makes the forecast even more difficult. Chevy may already have to postpone the release of the C8 cabriolet until model year 2021, despite accepting orders for them, because the plant cannot build them.
