Crossover after the change of generation received a new chassis, a supercharged engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission
Acura introduced the new generation RDX crossover, which was transferred to a new platform and equipped with a supercharged engine. The public premiere of the novelty took place in the framework of the motor show in New York.
In the exterior of the novelty, designed in a design studio in Los Angeles, the features of the same-name prototype, shown earlier in Detroit, as well as the Precision concept car, introduced in 2016, are guessed.
Acura RDX was built on a new architecture using high-strength steel, whose share in the construction exceeds 50%. In comparison with the predecessor, the size of the wheelbase of the car increased by 6.6 centimeters. Crossover received a new five-link rear suspension, electric power steering, as well as optional adaptive shock absorbers.
The Acura RDX will be available with a single two-liter four-cylinder turbo engine that develops 275 hp and 380 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system.
