Acura showed the interior of the new generation MDX crossoverOctober 9, 2020
The Acura MDX Prototype teaser campaign continues as the automaker unveiled the interior for the first time.
The upcoming Acura MDX crossover will follow in the footsteps of the updated TLX, as you can see by examining the teaser images of the new car’s interior. Most notably, the steering wheel will be carried over from the sedan, and the center console is nearly identical except for a new storage compartment to the right of the volume knob.
Above the thin air vents on the center console is a large infotainment monitor, and the Acura MDX prototype has a sleeker air conditioning unit. We also note the presence of a digital instrument cluster, wood trim and LED backlighting.
The concept also received an ELS Studio 3D audio system with 25 speakers with bright overlays. Other new features include a leather instrument panel and stylish seats with gradient perforations and high contrast stitching and piping. The seats also promise to be comfortable, as Acura noted that there is a massage function in the front row.
The MDX prototype will be released on October 14th. The look of the crossover was announced last week.
Acura specs have not been disclosed, but the MDX is expected to have a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 272bhp. and 379 Nm of torque. It should be paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
As Acura plans to release a Type S variant for all future models, there should also be a “charged” crossover with a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine delivering roughly 355 hp. and 480 Nm of torque.
