Acceptance of orders for the Cupra Formentor crossover will begin in July of this yearJune 28, 2020
Cupra Formentor coupe-shaped cross will appear at European dealers in the coming fall. Acceptance of orders for the model, in turn, starts next month. This was reported by the press service of the brand.
Formentor will be launched at Cupra in Martorell, Spain. At the start of sales, the cross-coupe will be offered with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder TSI turbo engine with a capacity of 306 hp. and 400 Nm of torque. The engine will be paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission with double clutch and AWD all-wheel drive system by default.
In 2021, Formentor will also be available with a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 1.4-liter TSI petrol engine with a output of 148 hp, a 113-horsepower electric motor and a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 13 kW / h. In addition, the Formentor family will have the most environmentally friendly version with an eHybrid with a capacity of 242 hp. and 400 Nm. This version can only drive up to 50 km on electric traction.
Formentor, in particular, will by default have a Dynamic Chassis Control system that offers various driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Cupra and others. In addition, the cross-coupe will acquire a new multimedia system with a 12-inch display, adaptive cruise control, a function for monitoring the “blind spots” and much more.
It should be emphasized that the Cupra CEO Wayne Griffiths, along with the Spanish race car driver Jordi Genet, have already tested the Formentor crossover at the brand’s enterprise in the Spanish city of Martorell.
In addition, it was recently noted that Cadillac has announced a new Lyriq electric cross. When sales of new items will begin, it is still unknown.
