Acceptance of orders for Tesla Cybertruck started in ChinaJuly 4, 2020
It is noteworthy that the acceptance of orders began at a time when the pick-up production company was not yet commissioned.
American carmaker Tesla has announced the start of accepting orders for its new innovative pickup truck Cybertruck in China. At the moment, the production of such cars has not yet started – the American company has just begun the construction of a new plant in Austin, where they will assemble an electric pickup truck. Thus, China joined the countries of North America and Europe, where you can apply for a high-profile novelty.
At the same time, the cost of reservation in China is comparable to that which must be paid in the USA. In order to stake a new Tesla Cybertruck, you must make an advance payment of 1 thousand yuan, which is 140 dollars. The list of technical equipment for China also includes autopilot. It is available as options – the surcharge will be 64 thousand yuan (about 9 thousand dollars). Experts suggest that the beginning of accepting applications for a model in China before the start of production is associated with a desire to assess interest in a car in the Middle Kingdom.
It is possible that if such a proposal causes a rush of demand, Tesla may decide to release Cybertruck in China. Currently, 650 thousand pre-orders have been issued for the new pickup truck in the USA.
Meanwhile, Tesla talked about the process of launching its plant in Germany. The localization level may be lower than expected, which will lead to an increase in the cost of cars.
