ABT finalized the “charged” crossover Audi RS Q8August 13, 2020
Bigger isn’t always better, but German tuner ABT thinks differently. The company adds an extra dose of power to the high-performance version of the Audi Q8 by transforming the charged crossover into the Abbot RSQ8-R.
The high-performance variant of the Audi Q8 is the sporty RS Q8, which with its 4.0 V8 biturbo engine with 600 hp. and 800 Nm turns the 500-horsepower SQ8 to dust. Apparently, Audi adherents from Abt believe that the power of 600 hp. the crossover is not enough and digitally presented the Abt RSQ8-R, an extreme RS Q8 that packs much more power.
ABT is installing its engine control module in the RS Q8, a redesigned system with a new intercooler that increases the power output of the Audi sports utility vehicle to 740 hp. and 920 Nm, 140 hp. and 120 Nm more than the original. With this “stuffing” RSQ8-R reaches a top speed of 315 km / h. For comparison, the top speed of the “regular” RS Q8 is 250 km / h, with the dynamic package – 305 km / h.
Of course, the tuner could not resist the temptation to equip the special RS Q8 with a series of carbon fiber aerodynamic elements. The kit includes light additions to the lower dash, around the wheel arches, on the side skirts and in the rear spoiler. Abt equips the RSQ8-R with a modified exhaust system and puts the crossover on 23-inch alloy wheels with special tires.
According to ABT, only 125 examples of the RSQ-R will be built. The tuning package is estimated at 68,138 euros. For that money, any used RS Q8 will turn into an SUV called the RSQ8-R.
