The second generation Audi R8 will be withdrawn concern Volkswagen Group. The recall will affect 1916 copies.
Concern Volkswagen was forced to announce a fairly large-scale revocable campaign of the second-generation Audi R8 sports model. Thus, 1,916 copies of the Coupe and Spyder, released in 2017 and 2018, will be sent for emergency maintenance. The reason for the recall was a possible fire due to a transmission fluid leak.
As it turned out, the pipes with liquid can leak due to the increased pressure in the automatic transmission during extreme use of sports cars. At the time of leakage, liquid may get on the hot parts of the engine or exhaust system, which causes smoke, and may cause a fire.
At the moment, isolated cases of fire on the tracks are known. The owners have already begun to receive invitations for involuntary TO. The official start of the campaign is scheduled for October 31. Dealer centers will replace the tube on a double, which is already installed on new cars. All work is done at the expense of the manufacturer.
Meanwhile, Audi introduced a more powerful version of the supercar R8 V10 Plus. The competition package sports car priced at 237,350 dollars
