Particular attention deserves the back of the updated version of the GT500. Apparently, buyers will be offered 2 variants of the car – ordinary and more powerful. The novelty can be presented already in the near future.

A new spy video, which was published by foreign profile publications a couple of hours ago, shows us that Ford engineers are testing the Mustang Shelby GT500 prototype, and this version of the high-performance coupe is a bit different from all those “spy” photos of the novelty that appeared earlier.

And what is so unusual about this car? – you ask. The fact is that this time, the GT500 got a relatively “tiny” rear spoiler. No, of course, the long-awaited American novelty looks very stylish without it, but still it’s not that we used to see before – then the spoiler was quite big.

So, the question is one – what happens? What does Ford test here? It is possible that a less bulky spoiler can be offered as an alternative for those people who prefer a less aggressive look of the car.

Another option is that the company plans to “roll out” an even more powerful version of its sports coupe, which will be similar to the performance of the GT350R. Thus, the spoiler at the back of this video is likely to be offered for the standard version of the model, well, the bigger wing is likely to be the difference of the version with the R. index.

Insiders say that under the hood of the new GT500 will be a 5-liter V8 with supercharged capacity of over 700 horsepower. A new ventilated hood and massive air intakes on the front bumper will provide the necessary cooling for this monster.

The official teaser on the new GT500 tells us that the car can be introduced in 2019, but it is not yet clear what year this figure means – calendar or model. If in the first case, 2019 will mean several more months of waiting, but the latter indicates that the presentation of the model can happen in the very near future.

Not so long ago, we wrote about the fact that Ford released a new Mustang for NASCAR racing.
