According to the latest information, under the hood of the most powerful version of the compact crossover Audi Q3 of the new generation will be at least 400 horsepower. A less powerful SQ3 can be introduced as early as next year.
Regardless of how you or I, or someone else, feel about such crossovers, under the hood of which there is a fairly large number of “horses” with their enormous strength, their popularity in the world automotive markets is increasing every year.
It’s safe to say that the German brand Audi at the moment is one of the companies that offer the widest range of reproducing crossovers – all SUVs are offered so-called “charged” performances.
A couple of hours ago at the disposal of our publication were “spy” photos of the test prototype RS Q3 of the new generation. It is reported that the car was seen on the legendary Nürburgring race track. In addition to the typical for all models of Audi Sport with the index RS oval exhaust pipe system, the car could boast other elements that speak of its sporty character. We are talking about large air intakes, a huge rear spoiler, wheel discs of the same large size, and an underestimated sports suspension. All this tells us that in front of us is nothing more than the most high-performance version of the Q3 crossover. Also worth mentioning wheel arches, which received an increase in size.
It is known that under the hood of the long-awaited German novelty will be a powerful turbocharged engine, which is also used in the hot RS3 and TT RS. Since in these cars it can boast a maximum power of 400 horsepower, we expect that the engineers of the brand will offer the same power for the Audi RS Q3.
The fact that Audi is testing the prototype RS Q3, just 3 weeks after the presentation of the normal version of the model, may be a hint that a high-performance car can be shown relatively soon.
Meanwhile, the date of the official presentation of the fully electric crossover Audi e-Tron is approaching. The main features of the car are the recuperation of about 70% of the energy and the motor for 360 hp.
