A strange prototype sedan was spotted in testing. Perhaps this new product from Fiat

The journalists published photos from tests of a rather strange sedan prototype. The car received a fairly high ground clearance, as well as a very strong camouflage. The photo is rumored to be a new model from Fiat.

A few months ago, foreign journalists were able to capture a strange prototype of a sedan with a high seating position. Now, this car has been spotted again, although recent observation has done little to identify the strange model, which we suspect is a model from Italian Fiat. There is still a rather massive disguise on the body of the car, which includes plastic false panels that help to hide the real features of the body – only parts of the car are visible.

All signs point to a new Fiat model, although its true identity remains a mystery.

Previous Fiat test vehicles had a similar-looking plastic skin designed to hide the shape of the vehicle, such as was seen on the Fiat Mobi test vehicle captured in 2019. The thick cladding of the car and the complete impossibility of its identification open up ample room for speculation about what Fiat plans to present. We previously speculated that this could be a high-performance version of the Tipo sedan unveiled by the company last October. There are similarities between the Tipo and the front-end design of the test car.

The car could be an early prototype of a coupe-like crossover like the Fiat Fastback Concept, which debuted in 2018, according to insiders. Foreign spy photographers speculate that it may be called the Toro Coupe and it could hit the market in 2022. This car will be targeted at the Brazilian and South American automotive markets.

If it is a Toro Coupe, then it will likely get a range of engines, with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder as base. It could also have the optional turbocharged 1.3-liter engine introduced in the 2022 Fiat Toro, which makes 185 horsepower. To understand what the automaker is developing, we’ll have to wait for the test car to lose its plastic cladding.

Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that Fiat introduced an updated Fiat Toro pickup 2022 based on the Jeep Compass crossover. The Italian automaker has unveiled its new compact Fiat Toro truck. New for the 2022 model year, in fact, is a redesigned version of the small Ram 1000.
