The 1988 BMW M3 Evo II E30 high-performance coupe will be sold at auction on Monday, June 29. This car is truly rare.

The powerful Bavarian car BMW M3 generation E30 is rightfully considered one of the best models of the sports brand BMW M, in its entire history. And yes, in recent years, prices have been rising. Following the debut of the “regular” M3 in the back of the E30, shortly afterwards, BMW introduced the Evolution I, and in March 1988 the Evolution II, which received many updates.

This article will focus on Evolution II, under the hood of which is a naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 217 hp, which is connected to a five-speed manual gearbox. One of the features of this high-performance coupe was the modernization of the Bosch engine control system, the installation of new pistons, a lighter flywheel and a more efficient air intake. The car also comes with large 16 × 7.5-inch wheels with 225/45 tires.

Many visual changes also make the M3 Evolution II stand out from the regular BMW M3 generation E30, including thinner glass and lighter bumpers.

This instance of a powerful Bavarian coupe spent many of its years in the hands of German owners, and then was exported to the UK in the mid-1990s. Its engine was uncoupled 4,800 km ago, and, as a result, the car’s odometer indicates mileage of 202,165 km. Although this is a lot, the car has an exhaustively documented history of service and, apparently, is well taken care of. The announcement states that under the rubber of the front windshield there are a couple of small spots of rust that need repair.

Not so long ago, our publication wrote that the updated BMW M5 in the CS version can get a 641-horsepower engine. According to reports, an updated version of the high-performance BMW M5 in an even more powerful version of the CS will debut this year and get 641 hp. power.
