A prototype of the updated Honda Accord 2021 was spotted on testsOctober 1, 2020
The Japanese brand is testing an updated version of the Honda Accord sedan. The prototype of the new 2021 model year was completely covered in camouflage. According to rumors, the official presentation of the model will take place very soon.
The journalists published photos of a prototype of the updated Honda Accord – the car was captured during a series of tests near the town of Salida (USA). This is our first look at the updated four-door car.
It looks like, starting at the front of the car, the exterior styling has changed significantly compared to the current version of the model. If the current Accord has a semi-open false radiator grille, then the updated model will have this element divided into two separate sections. This conclusion can be drawn from the location of the camouflage on the seen prototype. The headlights are still narrow, but have a slightly more rounded shape. The front bumper is also hidden under disguise. When viewed in profile, a spoiler can be seen at the end of the boot lid.
Unfortunately, there are no pictures of the rear of the new Accord, as well as of its interior.
So far there is no data on what changes await the new motor range. The current version of the model is available with a 192 hp 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a 252 hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. or a 2.0-liter hybrid four-cylinder with 181 hp.
Honda discontinued the manual-transmission Accord in December 2019 because only 1-2 percent of sedan buyers chose these versions of the model. It’s safe to say that the 2021 sedan won’t get the “mechanics” either.
Apparently, the official presentation of the updated Honda Accord sedan is just around the corner.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that the rarest 2011 Honda Accord Coupe is being sold at auction. Honda has kept its 2011 Accord coupe in perfect condition. This car, which is equipped with a V6 engine and manual transmission, has traveled only 563.27 kilometers and is now up for sale.
