A presentation of the new Kia Soul/Soul EV will take place very soon.October 20, 2018
Sales of the updated South Korean crossover Kia Soul/Soul EV in the conventional and electrified versions are scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2019.
Over the past few months, a whole host of spy photos of the next generation of the Kia Soul subcompact crossover has been published. Our friends from a foreign car magazine report that the usual execution of the model – with an internal combustion engine, and its fully electric version, will be officially presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show. This will happen in the second half of November of this year.
Unfortunately, at the moment about South Korean updates, in fact, nothing is known.
However, according to our insider friends, the start of sales of the updated Kia Soul/Soul EV in the United States is scheduled for the second quarter of 2019. It is expected that the automotive markets in Europe will receive only a fully electric version of the mini-crossover EV variant – but again, these are just rumors.
But what is known for sure is that the updated Soul will be built on the platform of another South Korean Hyundai Kona crossover and it will be quite possible to be equipped with the same engines. We are talking about a 2.0-liter atmospheric engine with a capacity of 147 hp, and a 1.6-liter turbo diesel GDI with a capacity of 175 hp. Most likely, the long-awaited novelty will be offered with both front and all-wheel drive.
