On the tests, a prototype of the new Chevy crossover was noticed, the model will be based on the Bolt plug-in hybrid hatchback. The presentation of new items can be expected in mid-2021.

The American concern General Motors is now actively engaged in the creation of electric vehicles, and soon a slightly larger “brother” will join the compact hybrid hatchback Chevy Bolt. This is a crossover, a prototype of which was recently captured by journalists near the headquarters of the American brand. Note that these are the first such pictures of the long-awaited news.

This prototype crossover received a “heavy” camouflage front and rear to hide the real exterior, which will be very similar to the design of the original Chevy Bolt.

We can see that the crossover received a rather short front part of the hatchback. Most of the center pillar is hidden under heavy camouflage, but we suspect that the Chevy Bolt floating roof structure is hidden under the tarp with virtually no change. Apparently, the car has very few serial elements of the body.

However, we are not completely ignorant of how the new crossover will look. Earlier this year, Buick introduced the Velite 7 crossover for the Chinese market. At the moment, there is no reason to believe that between the two electric cars there will not be much similarity in design. And we have every reason to believe that this is essentially the same model. Before the coronavirus fettered the work of most automakers in the United States, the American automaker held a special media event that revealed numerous details about the upcoming Bolt crossover.

Its wheelbase will be 7.62 cm longer than the standard Chevy Bolt, and the total length will be 12.7 cm longer. The novelty will also receive the function of intelligent cruise control Super Cruise developed by Cadillac. The cruising range of the new crossover is expected to reach 643.74 km.

An updated version of the original Chevy Bolt hatchback should debut before the end of the year. It is expected that an electric crossover based on this model will be presented in the early to mid-2021.
