Due to the high sales in the Celestial market, the Bavarian company decided to manufacture at its facilities. Release of new electric vehicles will be adjusted by 2020. This was stated by official representatives of BMW.

The company told some details about the future production of the electric BMW iX3. For example, it will be set up at a factory located in Shenyang. And it is from China that this model will be exported all over the world.

This decision was made thanks to the high sales of BMW cars in the local market. Their figures outstripped even such large markets as the US and Germany. In 2017, about 560,000 cars were sold here. Two thirds of this amount is produced by a joint venture of BMW Brilliance Automotive.

The company also added that first on the market will come the next generation X3 with a traditional internal combustion engine. And only then VBA will launch the electric version of the crossover, for which it will have to respond. On the territory of China, the joint venture has two assembly plants, and recently a plant for the production of engines was built, which also produces batteries for electric cars.

It should be noted that the iX3 concept car shown in Beijing is distinguished by a capacious battery pack with a capacity of 70 kW / h. With its help, the electric crossover will be able to travel about 400 km without recharging. A quick full charge takes only 30 minutes. By the way, the power of the engine is 270 hp.
