A mysterious Buick sedan prototype is seenAugust 26, 2019
The novelty, which is probably the Buick Verano sedan, has been spotted in the Death Valley (US reserve). The start of sales in China is scheduled for next year.
It was May 2019, when we first saw the prototype of the updated American Buick Verano sedan in “spy” photos. A couple of minutes ago, our editorial office received a “fresh” batch of images showing a prototype of an unknown model of the company with a fairly strong masking of the body. It is reported that the car was seen in the “Death Valley” (reserve in the United States). We are almost sure that in front of us is the same Buick Verano. Why did we decide so?
Firstly, this is clearly not a prototype of some Chevy sedan. If you look closely, you can see the corporate design of the V Buick false radiator grille seen on other recent models of the American brand.
Plus, the noticed car looks almost identical to the Buick Verano, which was spotted in Michigan earlier this year.
As more and more car makers abandon sedans and start actively designing SUVs and crossovers, we can’t help but wonder why Buick is testing a compact sedan in the United States? Verano was discontinued in North America after the 2017 model year and is currently available in China and Europe, with the latter being marketed under the Opel brand name.
It is not yet known whether the sedan will appear in the US automobile market. Currently, the model is offered with a 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that transmits torque only to the front wheels, and it is expected that the same will be offered in the updated version of the sedan.
