A copy of the Ford GT of gold put up for online biddingNovember 22, 2018
One of the world’s oldest auction houses, Sotheby’s is going to find an owner for a miniature replica of the 2006 Ford GT sports car. The uniqueness of this lot is that when it was created, 18-carat gold of two shades was used. A copy of the Ford GT will fall on the online auction.
It is known that at one time the “precious” replica of the legendary sports car was made at the request of one of the descendants of Henry Ford.
The craftsmanship with which the collectible car was made deserves respect. The master with enviable scrupulousness worked through all the details of the miniature, right up to the wheels and the license plate, giving it a striking resemblance to a full-sized original. So, in a golden Ford, you can open all the doors, carefully examine the engine, or check the “spare tire”.
Recall, the first generation Ford GT was published in connection with the “historical” date for the American automaker – the company’s centenary. The appearance of the “anniversary” novelty was largely repeated by the legendary GT40. This model bears the proud title of four-time winner of the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race.
