911 Carrera 4 GTS fights drag with AMG GT SAugust 30, 2019
These cars cannot be called the best in their class, but they are still pretty fast.
Four-wheel drive allows the car to maximize traction by using two axles at once. As an example of how this setup can help the model, you can watch this video about the Mercedes-AMG GT S racing a quarter mile against the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS.
Note that under the hood of the Mercedes-AMG GT S is a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8, which returns 515 hp. power and 670 Nm of torque. However, the 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox transmits power exclusively to the rear wheels.
The Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS belongs to the 991 generation, because for the 992 generation there is no GTS package yet. Its 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine delivers 444 hp. and torque of 550 Nm. The model also has a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, but traction is transmitted to all 4 wheels. For these two models, automakers are already preparing for replacements. Spy shots already give an idea of the new 911 GTS, but details about the power plant are not yet available. It is expected that the power of the new product will be higher than that of the Carrera S with its 443 hp.
There are no images of the next generation AMG GT yet, but the company has already confirmed its intention to install an all-wheel drive system in the car. In addition, it was stated that all Mercede-Benz models will become electrified after 2021.
