90-year-old man buys himself a 2021 Chevrolet Corvette C8January 17, 2021
The 90-year-old veteran of the United States Air Force decided to buy himself a red 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray as a birthday present. He says this is his fourth version of the legendary sports coupe.
We have already written about people who buy and drive sports cars at an advanced age. We once reported that a 78-year-old man decided to buy himself a McLaren 720S, and another 80-year-old man still drives a Ferrari F40. We even showed a 107-year-old guy who travels in his red Mercedes SLK 320 two-seater.
The fact is that age does not determine a person’s need for speed – as is the case with the US Air Force veteran who bought a red 2021 Chevy Corvette Stingray.
Chuck Cook, 90, bought his Vette from a Chevrolet dealer who shared a touching delivery of a sports car to an unusual customer on his Facebook page. What’s more, the dealership decided to give the event more meaning by hosting a party for Mr. Cook with the Corvette Club, complete with soft drinks, balloons and a cake with a photo of the Corvette C8 printed on the icing.
Mr. Cook is a resident of Leesburg, Florida, USA. According to the local Leesburg Daily Commercial, he bought his Corvette C8 as a birthday present. However, this is not the first version of a sports coupe he drives. He has been buying Corvettes since 1981 and this is his fourth Corvette.
“I can’t wait for the pandemic to end to show my car at various auto shows,” Cook said.
Cook is obviously a Corvette fanatic, and his worship of GM cars goes beyond a two-seater sports car. He told the Daily Commercial that he also owns the Chevrolet Equinox midsize crossover, which is used as an everyday car.
Not so long ago, Automotive News wrote that the Chevy Corvette C8 will appear in the Forza Horizon 4 simulator. Fans of the Forza Horizon 4 racing simulator have announced that starting January 14, the Chevy Corvette C8 sports coupe will be available in the game. The game developer posted a video that showed a fairly realistic copy of the supercar.
