67-year-old Porsche goes on sale for $ 160,000September 5, 2020
A rare 1953 Porsche 356 is now available for auction on the Bring A Trailer web portal.
At the time of this writing, the bidding has stopped at $ 160,000. The Porsche 356 is the debut production car of the German company and one of the most beloved by collectors. The photo shows a Pre-A variation, which is the earliest version sold from 1948 to 1955.
The coupe changed several owners, and the second of them had a car for more than 40 years, and in 2013 the previous owner bought the car and sent it for a long-term restoration, which was carried out by Janousek Classic Car Restoration.
The renovation was completed only last year. The car was equipped with a 1.6-liter engine (depending on the variation, its performance ranged from 60 to 115 hp) and a repaired transmission. This year the car ended up at a dealer, who spent another $ 25,000 installing Weber carburettors, new front brakes, Koni shock absorbers, and re-engine upgrades.
The mileage of the car is 104,000 km. The seller encloses with the car all original components that were replaced during the repair work, and the repair receipt.
In addition, a “charged” Jaguar XJR with a 370-horsepower V8 engine has recently appeared on sale. It should be emphasized that this powertrain has an Eaton supercharger and works in conjunction with a 5-speed automatic transmission.
